Cancellation Bonus and Minimum Shift Policy Update
We are happy to inform you that we are working with our clients to limit when you are released early from a shift after the 2 hours minimum engagement...
1. Educator and Staff Call-Out Bonus
Sometimes our clients’ needs change, or they encounter unforeseeable situations from time to time and cancel a shift. When this happens, we make it a priority to inform you of any changes as quickly as possible. We know your time is valuable, and to show our appreciation for any inconvenience caused by a late cancellation, we will pay you a cancel bonus of $100, including statutory superannuation. Our candidate’s satisfaction is important, and we always strive to provide exceptional service.
1.1 Eligibility
You are eligible for a $100 cancel bonus (including superannuation) if the following occurs;
- Your shift is cancelled within 2 hours of the scheduled starting time AND
- We do not offer you a replacement shift during the same day OR
- The replacement shift is more than 20kms from the original shift location or your home
1.2 Ineligibility
The cancel bonus is not payable if we notify you that your shift is cancelled with more than 2 hours’ notice or if you decline the offer for the replacement shift. The replacement shift we offer may be longer or shorter than your original shift. The cancel bonus is not payable if the start time of your shift changes.
1.3 Notifications and Operating Hours
We will notify you about shifts by phone call or text message, and the notification time will be considered from the moment we verbally speak to you or send you the text. Please expect to be contacted by our team during these hours:
- 6:00 am – 8:00 pm Monday to Thursday
- 6:00 am – 5:00 pm Friday
- 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm Sunday
1.4 How the payment works
The cancel bonus forms part of your gross wages and is taxable earnings. Superannuation will be applied at the statutory rate. A maximum of 1 cancel bonus is payable per day.
Please note our cancel bonus is a discretionary payment reflective of the current market conditions and subject to change at any time. There is no ongoing entitlement to payment created as a result of making this payment.
2. Longer Shift Incentive
We are happy to inform you that we are working with our clients to limit the occasions when you are released early from a shift after the 2 hours minimum engagement has been met. This means we will endeavour to pay you for 4 hours even if you are released from your shift earlier than 4 hours.
Please note this payment is discretionary and may be linked to the ability for us to recover these costs from our clients. This payment does not apply in the event of misconduct or poor performance.
